Craft & Cup

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Craft & Cup (the “Service”), a web application for journaling coffee, logging brews, mapping tasting notes to a flavor wheel, and sharing with friends. The Service is operated by [legal operator name - e.g. your name or company] (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Craft & Cup

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Some regions (including the EU and UK) require a higher minimum age for processing personal data without parental consent; where that applies, you must meet that age. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You sign in through a third-party provider (currently Google or Discord). You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you use to access the Service and for all activity that happens under your account. Please keep your credentials with those providers secure and notify us promptly at [contact email] if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. Accounts are for a single person; do not share your account or let others use it.

3. Your content

“Your Content” means anything you add to the Service - beans, recipes, tasting notes, scores, photos you upload, your display name and screenname, and messages you send. You keep ownership of Your Content.

To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resizing images or generating a flavor profile), and display Your Content solely for the purpose of running and improving the Service and providing its features to you and, where you choose, to other users. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content you have shared with others (which may persist in their view) and for reasonable backup copies that are cleared on our ordinary schedule.

You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. Content you mark as public - including content on your public profile page - may be visible to anyone on the internet, so share accordingly.

4. AI-generated flavor profiles

Craft & Cup uses an automated, AI-assisted process to turn your written tasting notes and recipe details into a flavor wheel and related suggestions. To do this, the relevant text is sent to a third-party AI provider ([name of AI provider]) for processing.

AI output is an automated estimate, not a fact. It can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unexpected, and it is not professional advice of any kind. In particular, the Service does not detect allergens and must not be relied on for health, dietary, or safety decisions. Always verify ingredient and allergen information from the original source.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or that violates others’ privacy or rights;
  • Upload malware, or attempt to probe, scan, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data or content from the Service except as permitted by us in writing;
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent limits on the AI or other features;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation; or
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or for any purpose other than its intended personal, non-commercial use, except as we permit.

6. Other users and social features

The Service includes social features such as friends, a shared feed, sharing beans and recipes, an inbox, and public profiles. Content and messages from other users are their own. We do not endorse and are not responsible for content provided by other users, and you interact with other users at your own discretion. You can control much of what you share through the visibility settings on your content.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service itself - including its name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software - is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding or to copy or reuse the Service’s code or design except as expressly permitted.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties to function, including Supabase (authentication, database, and image storage), Vercel (hosting and analytics), your sign-in provider (Google or Discord), and an AI provider for flavor analysis. Your use of the Service may also be subject to those parties’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability is outside our control.

9. Availability and changes

Craft & Cup is offered on an ongoing but evolving basis. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable. We will try to avoid disruption where reasonable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end, while any provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, reliable, secure, or available at any particular time, or that AI-generated results will meet your expectations.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed [amount - e.g. USD $100]. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [your state / country], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any disputes will be handled in the courts located there, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
